help with ID off Pacific Costa Rica

any help or opinions would be appreciated. We're leaning towards a Murphy's Petrel, which would be a new sp for Central America.

attached are a map and the only two photos we have to work with. The bird was part of a big mixed spp flock accompanying yellow-fin tuna and spinner dolphins, which have been in abundance off the Pacific coast here in Costa Rica for the past few months. Date was March 23, 2019.

feel free to circulate the images (and then report back, please?)
