A weekend workshop on  DYNAMIC IMPROVISATION
 
This workshop will strive to create organic quality of movement with lessons covering weight changes, posture, balance, comfort in the dance, analysis of rhythms, and tempo in relationship to the organization of movement.
 
This a progressive workshop with each class building on the previous. One or two elements will be approached starting from basic understanding to a variety of movement combinations.  Focus will be on the dynamic connection of the couple with a clear muscle base.
Key topics include:
  • Open-mindedness with improvisation
  • Finding your center of gravity
  • Using the strong and weak beats
Schedule:
 
Saturday, January 26th
  • Session 1: Basic Principals                1-3 pm
  • Session 2: Paradas and Sacadas        3-5 pm
Sunday, January 27th
  • Session 3: Boleos                            1-3 pm
  • Session 4: Ganchos                         3-5 pm
 
Location: University Heights (5031 University Way NE, Seattle, WA)
 
Cost: $30  per class / $50 per day (student discount = 30% off )

Originally from Buenos Aires, Ezequiel Farfaro has been traveling and teaching Argentine tango all of the world for over a decade. He has partnered with follows such as Milena Plebs, Lucia Mazer, and Eugenia Parrila. Many describe his dancing as organic, smooth, and dynamic; incorporating elements from contemporary dance and flamenco.  Watch him dance!
