Follower Technique
2 hours $35
7:00 – 9:00pm

This class will cover areas that are key for all follows:
Finding the center - We will work on posture and balance.
Footwork – Learn how to be more elegant, sensual, and precise.
Walking – Learn projection of steps, technique to reach better
equality and how to make your walk more sensual.
Pivots and turns - application in ochos, boleos, and molinetes
Embellishment – Learn different ideas to decorate your dance - More
importantly, learn how and when to do them.


Tango Salon (for couples)
1 1/2 hours $30
9:00pm – 10:30pm

Learn sequences for salon style emphasizing quality of movement and
elegance.
This class is best suited for intermediate to advanced dancers.
Partners are not required but are encouraged.
All efforts will be made to balance the class.

Classes will be held at El Sur located at 2901 1st Ave S in SODO.

Rachel is also available for private lessons until Thursday.
Private lessons are $100.

Rachel started dancing when she was 6 years old. 12 years of classical
ballet studies, contemporary and character dances were the foundation
for all that followed.
In 1991 she started the studies of Latin and ballroom dances and
received the IDTA diploma (international dance teachers association).
Rachel has been teaching for 8 years ballroom and Latin American
dances and competed in international dance competition such as the
prestigious Blackpool congress in England.

In 1998 she started to study Argentinean tango, first the basics
with maestro Ricardo Calvo than with her most marking maestros Carlos
Gavito, Osvaldo Zotto & Lorena Ermocida , Roberto Herrera, Gustavo
Naveira & Giselle Anne Javier Rodriguez & Geraldine Rojas, Nito &
Elba, Vanina Bilous.

Rachel has performed as Tango dancer in numerous theaters with Israeli
Philharmonic orchestra musicians, in "Tango magic" show and with
Pitango quartet.
From 2003 she is living in Buenos Aires where she is teaching and
performing, specializing in tango salon style, lady's technique and
milonga. She has performed with well known milongueros like Hector
Chidichimo and el pibe Avellaneda. She has performed several times in
the famous milongas – Club Gricel and la Viruta and has been managing
Tangox2 company by Miguel Angel Zotto. In the last 3 years she is
giving workshops and performs on a current basis in the US and Europe
and give workshops from times to times with Pablo Veron.

quality of movements from the footwork to the entire body through the
connection between the couple - the leading and the response to the
leading. my preferred style is the tango salon incorporating some
modern movements always paying attention to the esthetic and
elegance.”
