Greetings from a Cowan's Gap descendant

I am a descendant of the Cowans from Bedford, Fulton or Franklin
counties in PA. The Burnt Cabins and Cowan's Gap area. I recently
had a DNA test performed and am part of the Cowan DNA project on
Family Tree DNA.

To date, we have been unable to connect past my 2nd great grandfather
(b. 1831) to the actual progenitor of Cowan's Gap, Samuel. My Y-DNA
test was an exact match to 25 marker with someone with a well
documented pedigree, and 1 off at 37 markers. I am still waiting for
the final results, and it appears that Family Tree DNA wants me to do
an SNP test, as well.

I'd be interested in corresponding to other Cowans from these lines,
or anyone with information about them. Presently, there is a very
critical 35 year gap we can't get through.

I connect with the top result box on the Cowan ydna results at 63/67
markers. I have ordered the deep clade R SNP test and await the result.
