The LDS Family History Library has begun digitizing and making
available on the Internet all of the Family History books in their
collection. By the end of 2005, 5000 books had been digitized and were
available, and they have announced that they are adding about 100
titles a week to the on-line Family History collection. I didn't see
any volume count on the main page.

If you don't find what you want there, you may find Family Histories
Online helpful. Go to
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/family_histories/

A wonderful part of this site is that you can search for more than
keywords and/or surnames. You can also search by geographic area, and
also do a full-text search, which would work great for a rare surname,
parish or village name.

A geographic area search for "selkirk" got no matches, while a
full-text search got 293!
