Did you know that 58% of older people are forced to turn down the
temperature in their home to save money and 13% of older people have
to cut back on food or other essentials in order to pay for heating
their home.
Wearing a hat is a simple way to keep warm, it’s something you do
every day in the cold weather without thinking but by supporting our
Wear a Hat Day on the 2nd December, you can spread the warmth and help
Age Scotland to really make a difference to improve the lives of older
people in Scotland.
So, what hat will you be wearing on Friday 2nd December 2011?
We are inviting you to take part in our annual fundraising event: Wear
a Hat Day.
Across Scotland thousands of people wear a hat on the day and to
donate a minimum of £2 to Age Scotland. You can do this by simply
texting AGES10 £2 to 70070.
Your hat can be created, borrowed or bought and you can make the day
as much fun as you like - the only limit is your imagination.
This year Wear a Hat Day will take place on Friday, 2nd December – but
you can choose any date in December that suits you best!
Why not use this as an excuse to kick-start the festive season!
Organise a ‘Wear a Hat’ coffee morning, a ‘Wear a Hat’ walk or a ‘Wear
a Hat’ fashion show... Our registration pack has lots of fun ideas to
