Hello Coaches,
Yesterday was my first ever Science Olympiad and I am so glad it is over!! It has been extremely hard to navigate through all the rules and things needed for each event. Some of the event rules are so vague and others don’t even have all the equipment list on the document but on a link that’s provided. Yesterday while at our competition my students were told they were risking disqualification by the proctor because I had made a 3 tiered rolling tool box with all the supplies on the list. Since this is my first time doing this I wanted to make sure I was doing it right so I read through all the rules, made a checklist of everything every student needed for their events, made them grab bags with those supplies, placed them in order of completion time, and even made the chemistry lab on wheels. So am I not supposed to provide them with everything on the list even though it says students who don’t have everything may be at a disadvantage because the proctor won’t supply any of the materials?!?! It also said that students CAN have any or all of the materials on the list.
Thank you for any information you can give me!!
Have a wonderful day,
Melinda
