Hi all,
I am wondering how you make a salinometer that is accurate? I have seen and tried all of the ideas from the videos-using a straw and clay, using a pipette and sand, etc. However I do not see how that can be accurate to within .5% as stated in the rules at the State level.
Any suggetions are appreciated.

I think the accuracy with this device has more to do with the precision of the markings your student made when they were calibrating the device. Try starting with 0 and 10% solutions and have them calibrate it.
