If you're not from Dixon this picture might not be impressive, but for those of us from the Sauk Valley you realize we are in the midst of significant flooding. Approximately six feet below where I am standing is a retention wall and a sidewalk that local fisherman stand on that is now underwater. Further downriver the water has crept on to about the 20 yard line of Dixon High School's football field.

Many local roads along the Rock River are covered with water and closed to traffic. The river is predicted to crest on Tuesday.
