It has to be filled and submitted to the custodian of the lake (i.e., BBMP, BDA, KFD, etc)

Another hurdle that I am facing is that the lakes here in my area come under gram panchayat, so any inputs on  how do I go about submitting the application .

For those who are interested to contribute for Madiwala lake, there is a way to do it by becoming lake warden.

The Karnataka Lake Conservation and Development Authority (KLCDA) is now calling for application to become lake warden and chief warden.  The responsibility and activities are defined in the attached GO. Anyone who is interested to contribute can apply for it and the appln is also attached. I will also share the English ver once it is available.

Yesterday, we had been to KLCDA office and met their CEO Mr Vidyasagar who looks to be a very proactive and friendly person. He has promised to visit the lake on coming Mon or Tues. I will let you know once the exact date / time is known. Also, Dr Babu from Yamuna biodiversity park fame and professor JNU and chief designer of Madiwala biodiversity park will be visiting Madiwala lake on 14th Jul.

The mail also contains the details for the Madiwala bio-diversity park. Mr Vidyasagar informed that the work is going to start in two months time. Will be great if more people can come and show interest in making Madiwala as the best lake in Bangalore with huge natural forest cover, clean water and lots of flora and fauna. It will be an amazing thing to have it in our neighbourhood.

I live in Sarajapura - Atibele Road,which doesn't come under BBMP,  How can I find out where will the submission (office location) be?

The KLCDA CEO informed one of the person who met him few days back that application for lake warden can also be submitted by sending scanned copy of application to "ceold...@gmail.com". The application should mention the name of lake custodian authority at the top. In an earlier meeting, he had mentioned that he is trying to put a system in place, create awareness among govt officials etc. Let us give him a chance by applying as warden and work with KLCDA in making it more effective. We wont gain by being negative or treating it as a gimmick. 

Even the KSPCB and mayor BBMP are showing more seriousness and offering to visit lakes for inspection. These are good signs that we should encourage.

Hi All,

I was following save bangalore lake from some time. Based on this group, I have applied for Lake Warden for Maregondanahalli lake next to Patel Neotown. This comes under Hulimangala panchayat. I have submitted my form there. Waiting for their reply.

Current Status of lake:

So far i was alone struggling to maintain this waterbody. To create awareness and appreciate the beauty of this i have invested my personal money and time. I purchased a 52CC petrol brush cutting machine and chopped the bushed, cutting grass and dumped 6 load of mud and make the bed ready for plantation. All these are spend my own pocket and i was the only labour apart from truck drivers.So far i did POC(Proof of concept) of lake cleaning activity and going further i want to do aggressively.

Previously this area was actively used by boozers. Now i can see some nature lovers with DSLR's. There are good amount of migrating birds and lake is decent, not bad.

I am yet to start cleaning the lake. I met anand for the same.

What i expect from this group?:

I would like senior NGO's like puttanahalli lake authority to guide and educate the first level of lake defense people like me. I don't have any knowledge on how lake warden approved form look like. whom should i approach for lake area. where to get vendors/NGO's to contact for getting lake cleaning work done for competitive price.

Good to organise a workshop to explain their expirence and how to get work done.
