Solvang Family Bike Ride - Sat. June 10th

Hello friends, neighbors and bike community,
I’m writing to invite you to join us for a short community family bike ride around the village of Solvang on Saturday, June 10th at 9:30am.
This “Solvang Pride Bike Ride” is hosted by Dr. J’s Bicycle Shop and the Rainbow House of Solvang. This is a family event and all are welcome to attend.
There will be lunch at Hans Christian Andersen Park @ 11:30 am following the short 3.6 mile bike ride around the village of Solvang. We will have ride volunteers that will be sure everyone bikes in a safe formation and obeys all traffic laws. Please wear your helmet!
The intent of this ride is to bring families and individuals of the Santa Ynez Valley together to support the LGPTQ+ community. What better way to stand in solidarity than by pedaling a bicycle!
I understand that some of you and others in the Santa Ynez Valley may not support those who identify with LGPTQ+. However, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and instead show support for your friends, neighbors and loved ones in the LGPTQ+ community. They are hurting right now and feel marginalized in our small valley.
Rainbow House has a simple motto that “all are welcome”. Let’s please not fret over the negative feedback loop we hear on tv and social media; but instead show each other compassion & friendship celebrating our differences.
If you’d like to participate in this FREE event, please register here so we get an accurate head count for our lunch caterer.
The ride will meet at 9:30am in the back parking lot of Dr. J’s Bicycle Shop. Lefty’s Coffee Company will be serving coffee and breakfast treats. We encourage you to decorate your bike and wear costumes, if you so choose.
