Corey, it's your last chance to comment on how Santa Barbara County will grow and where regional transportation $$$ will be spent! Will we continue to focus on motor vehicles (including EVs) or design a more sustainable future with with increased funding allocated for bikeways, walkways and robust transit?
You have until 5PM THIS Friday, June 7 to let the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) hear from you. |
In this 5-minute survey, you get to choose if you want a future which includes “Transit-Oriented/Infill Development with an Alternative Transportation Emphasis,” and how a renewal of future Measure A funding could be spent (currently at only 3% Bicyclist and Pedestrian projects, 17% Transit, 58% Maintenance and 22% Major Road Projects like highway widening). The survey is part of the public input process for updating the County's Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP-SCS), known as Connected 2050, which define Santa Barbara County's future growth and regional transportation investments.
Every four years, SBCAG updates the RTP-SCS. The SBCAG Board of Directors will consider selecting a growth scenario at their June 20 meeting which will define the plan’s update and how the region will grow over the next 25 years. Public input like yours can influence their selection and is vital to develop a robust plan that meets the transportation needs of the region, now and well into the future.

En esta encuesta de 5 minutos, usted puede elegir si desea un futuro que incluya “Orientado al Tránsito/Desarrollo de Infill con énfasis en transporte alternativo” y cómo se podría gastar una renovación de los fondos futuros de la Medida A (actualmente a solo el 3% Proyectos para Ciclistas y Peatones, 17% Tránsito, 58% Mantenimiento y 22% Proyectos Viales Importantes como ampliación de carreteras). La encuesta es parte del proceso de participación del público para actualizar el Plan de Transporte Regional y la Estrategia de Comunidades Sostenibles (RTP-SCS por sus siglas en inglés) del Condado, conocida como Conectado 2050, que define el crecimiento futuro del Condado de Santa Bárbara y las inversiones en transporte regional.
Cada cuatro años, SBCAG actualiza el RTP-SCS. La Junta Directiva de SBCAG considerará seleccionar un escenario de crecimiento en su reunión del 20 de junio que definirá la actualización del plan y cómo crecerá la región durante los próximos 25 años.
