Sílvia Casorrán, Sustainable Mobility Barcelona Manager, Secretary General, Spanish Network Cities for cycling
Barcelona, as many other cities of the world, is working hard to become a liveable city. Cities were design, from the 60s last century, to maximize the efficiency of motorized traffic, so bringing the space back to pedestrians and cyclists means removing cars. Barcelona is quite famous for doing hard work last years, but we'll see what are still the challenges to become a convenient city for cycling.
Sílvia Casorrán Martos (Barcelona, Spain) is graduated in Environmental Sciences and MBA, and part of her studies took place in The Netherlands and in Mexico. She has got 20 years of professional career in the fields of sustainable mobility and transformation of public space, working for both private and public sector, in the last years as Deputy at the Chief Architect Office, Barcelona City Council, and now as General Secretariat at the Spanish cities network for cycling. She has been also an activist for more than 15 years among sustainable mobility social movements. In the period 2019-2023 she was been the Mobility Councillor for Sant Martí District in Barcelona.
