This is Darren in Brisbane. Darren in Tokyo, but originally from GOld Coast/Brisbane, mentioned that he saw Sam (but as Leslie) in Brisbane on the 'Black & White In A Grey World Tour'.
Well - SO DID I!!
How about that - and here we are, all these years later. Talk about staying power...
But as to the 'impromptu' dance - funny, I don't recall that part.
My biggest memory (and I hope it actually happened) is that it got to the end of the concert, and the encores, and the audience still wanted more and Leslie (Sam) more or less had to sing some of the same songs again. Did that happen, or have I embellished it over the past twenty-something years? It was, like, 1987 or something...
Nice to know that there are other Australian fans out there (even ex-pats), even if we are both named Darren!!!

Hey Darren, sure we weren't twins and separated at birth? This is too freaky! :)
So you were there at that same concert! Wow! It is funny how are memories are selective. I cannot remember too much about the songs that were part of the encore. But Leslie was so loved by the audience. And Aussie audiences are very demanding if they like you ... so I am sure there is a good chance she played some of the same songs again.
My other memories are of her playing a song from her next album ... she played "Beating Heart". I also remember how the keyboard was rigged with mini fireworks and smoke machine to make out as if it was exploding from the solo. Probably worked in the US ... but I thought at the time, Leslie doesn't need the circus. Just give her more time to perform!!!!
One final memory was of a rumor in which Leslie did not want to tour any more, but did the Australian tour because she was under contract.
Has Leslie/Sam ever been to Australia since? I wonder of what she thought of the Aussie welcome ...
Cheers!
