Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings of the upcoming Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

As you likely know, I enjoy putting together collections of music, and this one is for Pascha. I hope this music will contribute to the festiveness of your family’s celebration.

Christ is Risen!

Protodeacon Brendan

P.P.S.  Additional Music

As you may guess from listening to these collections of music, I love listening to a wide variety of music for great feasts such as Pascha and Christmas, and putting together music that touches my heart, with comparison and contrast in the flow of different styles and worldviews.

One particular influence on these music collections is that almost a half century ago I made the conscious choice to more-or-less disconnect from the popular media culture, not as a judgement or a one-size-fits-all prescription for others, but as a way to support my own personal longing for internal peace.

That said, there are a number of popular music genre pieces that that have spoken to me over the years.  This collection of additional music seemed to me to work best on its own, and I hope you will enjoy it.  You may notice that it uses a somewhat more relaxed bar for theological divergence in places.  It is loosely on the theme of renewal / restoration / resurrection, even in this world, as in Isaiah 61:1-4: "the Lord hath anointed me ... to bind up the brokenhearted, ... to give unto them beauty for ashes."
