Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are honored to share that El Tonto Por Cristo—filmed at St. Seraphim Cathedral and the Nativity of our Lord Monastery—will premiere in Dallas on Monday, October 6th at the historic Texas Theatre. This screening kicks off the film’s national theatrical release, and tickets are selling down.
Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Josh David Jordan, with a score by Emmy-nominated composer Michael Paraskevas, the film features the Cathedral Choir of St. Seraphim under the direction of Christopher Reeves, alongside The Polyphonic Spree Choir. Executive producers include Jonathan Pageau and Dcn. Seraphim Rohlin.
The story follows a brotherhood of monks on the Texas coast, inching their way toward sainthood while struggling with their own condition. It stars Matthew Posey (No Country for Old Men), Barry Corbin (Killers of the Flower Moon, Northern Exposure), Jordan Walker Ross (The Chosen), and Tim Delaughter of The Polyphonic Spree.
