Just getting the 16 ready for the season here in New Hampshire and
started thinking about the possibility of taking the Mistral out to
York Harbor for a sail around the Nubble (Cape Neddick Light).

Anyone have any experience with the Mistral in a Near-shore
situation? Sailed it on the lake all last year and found how sporty
"read: squirrelly" it can be with the jib up tight, but hadn't ever
been able to tip it over (had it past 30° several times).

Hadn't had it in real waves yet, but was hoping to get there this
summer unless I hear some dire warnings.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Steve

My only experience was a few weeks ago, near shore, in a short chop
and following seas. It handled fine, with only a little spray. Sorry I
could not be more helpful. Sounds like a nice trip!

Tip my 12 over regularly
Easiest to get back in by the stern

We took ours into the open harbor in Salem, MA. it handled it fine,
but I had a much more experienced person than myself with me
