Hello SageMath Community,
My name is Shreyansh Verma, and I am a first-year Computer Science Engineering student specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I have been following the SageMath project for some time and am eager to begin my journey as a contributor.
My Current Status: As part of my learning process, I have successfully:
Set up a full development environment on Windows via WSL2.
Built SageMath from source using the Conda/Mamba environment manager.
Configured my local Git workflow with the necessary upstream remotes.
Areas of Interest:
Statistics & AI/ML Fundamentals: Given my academic focus, I am very interested in contributing to the Statistics module. I am looking for "good first issues" related to computational logic or bug fixes in this area.
Financial Mathematics: While I am still a beginner regarding the mathematical theory of finance, I am keen to help with code maintenance, implementation tasks, or documentation within this module.
Code Quality & Documentation: To familiarize myself with the review process and the project's structure, I am interested in helping with Code Spell Checking and improving the clarity of the documentation.
Goal: As a first-year student, I am looking to learn the best practices of large-scale open-source development. If there are any small tasks or documentation improvements currently needed—especially in the Statistics or Finance modules—I would love to take them on.

I look forward to learning from you all and contributing to the project!
Best regards,
Shreyansh Verma
