Hi everyone,

Cynthia, Monica, Kelly and I met with Vancouver’s Deputy City Manager and 2 Traffic engineers on Monday afternoon. Our discussion was frank and open, covering the issue from the beginning and looking forward to the future. As you will read in the attached notes, we are committed to work with the City and the Port , and we plan to meet in September after the pilot project has been running for about a month .

Hi Eileen, thanks for the notes. There appears to be no mention of the route the majority of the trucks are now taking Clarke to Powel to Dundas to Nanaimo to McGill. There is still a large part of the neighbourhood that is being affected by all of these trucks. I would recommend they place their counters just north of Dundas on Nanaimo if they want a true count on the amount of trucks still using these streets (and not the City recommended route). Thanks, *dalyn

Hi everyone

I thank you for the work you did and meeting with Mr. Sadhu

I find it extremely interesting that many of the claims in the discussion contradict Mr. LeClaire's previous comments made to the GWAC meeting as well as previous comments made by City officials and Mr. Johnston himself as well as comments made by Port officials publicly and privately. I also find it interesting that the figures and comments also contradict Mr. Sadhu's talking points and Councillors comments issued previously. In addition, it is very revealing that the City hadn't communicated any of these points  as of last week with Port officials.

It seems apparent that the City and Port seem to be collaborating on some issues and operating in isolation on others.
In addition, please be aware Mr. Johnston is a partisan political appointment and thus communicates partisan and political points as part of his regular duties.

I notice that the issue of Powell and McGill was not addressed and IS part of the MRN and eligible for use.

However, it is moot to point fingers at this point. I would suggest we wait and see how the plan plays out.

Let's hope it works

Cheers

Dave
