Decades of history

We all might have been separated by miles but one thing which unites us is our school. Our school has decades of success history in which we have been also part of. Unlike many urban schools which are operating as profit motive organizations, our school is doing good job as non-profit institution which servers Sattankulam and nearby localities by providing good education.

Our school has overcome many obstacles which were threats of hindering or stopping the operation. After all, our school has been functioning with very limited resources in terms of number of teachers, class rooms, lab, library, etc.

An issue which needs immediate action:

Once the new correspondent (Rev. Fr. Edward) assumed to the office, endeavors were started to fulfill the infrastructure facilities. But the recent news is shocking as our school is likely to lose its recognition. As per the evaluation done by the education officials, the current lab is not good enough to meet the standards. So it has become imperative to build a lab facility in a fast track manner to get rid of this danger.

Meeting held at Maduravoil to discuss about the issues:

As soon this issue started, different sources were approached to fund this project. In this multi directional search, our alumni were also approached in seeking our support for this project. A meeting was convened at Maduravoil (Chennai) between alumni and school representatives. That was the catalyst to start this group.

 

Meeting Details:

The delegates, who represented our school, were Rev. Fr. Edward, Amalraj Sir, Antony Joseph Raj Sir (Drill sir), Rex Sir, and Bellarmin Sir. Around 20 alumni from various parts of Chennai gathered and participated attentively.

The current project (Lab Building construction) has just been started. We are presenting the details we got from the school during the meeting to you here.

Details about the project:

• ·         New building is to be sited at the place where old hostel was
• ·         New building to accommodate lab and few class rooms
• ·         New building will be two storied building
• ·         Estimation is approximately 18-20 lakhs

Upcoming ideas to be implemented:

• ·         A hall to be constructed for our school to designate our school as examination centre.
• ·         Adequate class rooms to be built.
