Attention all you Ultra-Endurance Jedi Masters:

http://coloradoes.wordpress.com/

Dates are tentative and subject to change, but this is where we are at
right now.

Durango Gravel Grinder 115/160 (DGG 115/160), April 14, 2012
Salida Classic (S100), June 16, 2012
Durango Dirty Century (DDC): July 7, 2012
Rico-Telluride 100 (R100) : July 21, 2012
Mega Friggin Sneffels Loop (MFSL): July 28, 2012
Best of Brockover (BOB): August 4, 2012
Nederland HalfAss (NED): August 18, 2012
Crested Butte Classic (CB 100): September 29, 2012
Ring the Peak (RTP): October 6, 2012 (Colorado State Endurance
Championship!)

Start the season early with a fast dirt road ride in Durango, but then
be prepared for nothing but singletrack thereafter. The heart of the
season starts in Salida and continues on through Nederland in 2-3 week
gaps. Only the strong shall survive. Then it's time to enjoy the
late fall and prepare for Crested Butte and the state championships in
the Springs, home of some of the states strongest riders.

New this year is the epic in Salida with a big loop over to Buena
Vista and back.

The DDC has been moved one week later, and the epic Rico-Telluride
route has been moved to mid July. What makes this significant is
Blackhawk Pass, where you climb over it one way for the DDC, and 2
weeks later you climb the route in reverse for the Rico-Telluride
100.

Come on out, save on some entry fees, and hit epic terrain! Be kind,
courteous, support the volunteers and enjoy the best of communal
racing!

Matt,
This looks great!  I like the Salida addition.  Do you think there would be anyway to hold the CB 100 a little earlier in September to give a little more time for recovery between it and Ring the Peak?  Just a thought.  Thanks for putting this series together!

Nope.....CB owns the weekend it is held and it has been spectacular the last two seasons.   Dave Ochs runs this one and it is the highest attended event in the series.  I have not spoken with Ryan Kohler about RTP, but I see no problem with these held one week apart.

All credit for Salida goes to Tom Purvis - he stepped forward and brought this one in, which I expect will be one of the highest attended.

Two different people from Aspen have indicated an interest to hold an event there, but thus far no one has followed through.  We might see some other events come out of the woodwork before the season starts.  Contact me if interested.

Matt,
Oh well.  I thought I would try.  I will just be stronger after those last two races a week apart.  I am excited to see if Aspen or others apear on the schedule.

Thanks,
Chad

I relented and left it in this year and will be there myself.  I myself have to get a finish there come hell or high water (and at Sneffels both are expected).  Wendy Lyall already signed up too, so there should be a few of us trying to follow the path you blazed up there.  Grab a beer at the finish line and laugh at us if and when we finish...or at least drop some bagels and water up on Lost dollar road if you are around that weekend.  ;-)

Hey Matt, how about swapping the Rico-Telluride for the original Bear creek beat down course. Same zone, more trail, less road and could be done in either direction ? Just a thought...
