Hey all, sorry last minute, was hoping the goat and the chicken I beheaded last night would appease the snow gods and we'd be smooth sailing on dry trails come Saturday. Not at all the case. The snow we got last Sunday killed any chances of 403/401, other trails are holding water and are really messy, and it's coming down again now. Including snow. Alternatives a bit down Valley, like Reno Flag Bear, and Doctors are also a muddy mess, and again, they are getting hit now too.
We've had a good string of luck for 10 years, it had to happen eventually, and I'm super bummed to say it's not on this year.
Some of you may already be here, maybe even in transit right now. If there's a crew here tomorrow, we could perhaps all go down to Gunnison for a fun group ride at Hartman's. Otherwise, there isn't a trail around that isn't a mess.
I hope Mama Nature didn't kill anyone's vacation plans or throw off a long time in planning. It's supposed to be nice starting tomorrow, but too late. Lower stuff may dry out by Sunday, and it is Dan's Birthday still. We have tons of Beer from New Belgium and Avery, and Dan is even thinking hot laps around town on townies, based out of the Brick! So if you're here and still planning on doing something, we can rig up some damn good times just sitting at the Brick and drinking all this beer!
Sorry last minute, and sorry that the government didn't put one of those giant space magnets up and move those clouds! - Dave
