The ski slopes are closing, the soil is drying out and your desire to crank in lieu of carve has taken over. But soaring gas prices and record-level entrance fees for races means that either you have to choose fewer races this season...or you do your shopping wisely.
With that in mind, the 2012
Colorado Endurance Series kicks off this weekend with a new event, put on by Ben Welnak: The
AnitEpic Gravel Grinder. A new event and Ben already has 50 people signed up - this looks like the start of annual early season, Front Range Epic. 150-miles of lonely Colorado roads made not so lonely by you and the other cyclists. If you miss the AntiEpic, have no fear because the following weekend we have the
Durango Gravel Grinder on darn near the opposite end of the state, where the dirt roads roll faster than the paved ones.
The early season gravel grinders will get you in shape to be ready for the big singletrack epics in store for the season. See you out on the trails!
