Job position attached. A little more information from Holly Jarman, who is involved in the search:

We are looking for candidates who examine the causes and consequences of racism, seek ways to dismantle it, and promote racial equity through their research, as educators, and in their everyday decision making as public scholars.  We interpret this broadly. We especially welcome scholars who engage with the intersections of policy/health services research and racial justice, critical race/ethnic studies, STS, Black studies, intersectional feminisms, decolonization and postcolonial studies, transregional and global studies, disability studies, Indigenous studies, and trans studies.

My department, the Department of Health Management and Policy, or HMP- is an interdisciplinary unit within the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Our faculty bring perspectives from fields including sociology, organizational studies, science and technology studies, economics, operations research, public policy, and political science, so applications from these and adjacent fields are welcome. Collectively, we research policies and practices affecting health, public health, and healthcare, and teach a diverse group of rising leaders who go on to work in healthcare, public health and health policy and advocacy in the US and around the world.

The job is a tenure-track, open-rank position, and we are encouraging people at any career stage to apply, providing they have completed a PhD in a relevant field by August 2024. The position is part of a multi-year, university-wide effort to recruit and support a cohort of anti-racist scholars. The new hire would join an expanding network of colleagues with this focus across the university, many of whom you can find here and here.  We will begin reviewing applications on October 6, 2023.  All interested parties should apply electronically via Interfolio (http://apply.interfolio.com/126394).

I’ve attached the job advert below. Please pass it on to others who might be interested. If you have any questions at all about the position or the search process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
