Good afternoon District 6 Food Justice community members,
The City of Albuquerque's Parks and Recreation Department is requesting $100,000 in Capital Outlay Funds from the New Mexico State Legislature to fund community garden projects being implemented through partnerships with community organizations. The City's
Local Agriculture Community Coordinator, Stefany Olivas (cc'd) is leading this effort and appreciates any support that community members can provide to get these community garden projects funded. Funds would support the design, planning and construction
of garden projects at community centers, as well as projects at other community gardens including but not limited to the International District, Singing Arrow, Martineztown, and other neighborhoods. For more information about the funding request, please see
