PBABQ Community Members,

We have missed you all and are excited to re-connect with you all at the beginning of March, as we kick off the second round of Participatory Budgeting in City Council District 6!  This year, PBABQ is establishing itself as a community organization that will be leading much of the work in implementing PB in D6 (with Councilor Rogers' Office and City Council staff providing support through all six phases of the PB process).

To launch our second round of PB in D6, we will be making another call out for D6 Steering Committee members (we hope you apply!) and we will also be hosting a Launch Party (date, time, and location TBD)!  Our PBABQ Team is still working on the application form, eligibility requirements, and member orientation materials for D6 Steering Committee members, but please keep an eye out for our application to open at the beginning of March.

After completing our first round of PB in 2025, we now have a well-developed / clear timeline for executing all six phases of the PB process in 2026:

Phase
Duration
Assemble and Orient Steering Committee
2 Months (March-April)
Idea Collection
1.5 Months (April-May)
Project Development and Project Refinement
2 Months (May-June)
Voting
1.5 Months (July-August)
Implementation
Ongoing (September-Onward)
Evaluation
1 Month (November)

Looking forward to re-connecting with you all here in the next few weeks!
