Hello South San Pedro Neighborhood Association,
On June 17, 2026 Dr. Jacob Villa of UNM College of Education and Kelly Ami of BernCo completed the REFRIED consent process to author a manuscript about the South San Pedro revitalization movement. Attached in this email is a .pdf of
The Journey as Place: Affective Infrastructure, REFRIED Consent, and Critical Youth Development in an Urban Neighborhood.
If you are unfamiliar with REFRIED, the one pager is also attached.
Part of the REFRIED "I" of INFORMED was to share the draft manuscript with the South San Pedro Neighbors, who asked for 2 weeks to read the article. This puts the
due date or read receipt on Monday July 20th. On Tuesday, June 21
st there will be a reading/summary/feedback session. More details to come for the feedback party. I am here
