Good afternoon everyone and happy Friday!

Thank you to everyone who has responded to Councilor Rogers' request for information to support the City of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Housing Authority's application for the HUD Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant!

For those who haven't yet responded, we have been given an extension until Tuesday, February 17 to compile all of the Leverage Investments from Community Organizations as part of our grant application.  This highly competitive program can bring $26 million in new federal investment to the International District to not only redevelop public housing, but also to invest in other programs and amenities that support the neighborhood and its residents.  Here is a link to our website that has more information about the program: https://www.abqchoice.com/about

If your organization currently operates funded programs/projects that will serve International District residents in the future, or is planning to launch new funded or budgeted services or projects between Q3 2026 and 2030, we invite you to share the information below:

  1. Program or project name
  2. Approximate annual or total funding amount (estimates are fine)
  3. Funding source(s) (foundation, state, federal, Medicaid, etc.)
  4. Anticipated timeframe (e.g., 2026–2028)
  5. Brief description of how the program or project will serve International District residents
If you have any questions about the information being requested or would like for us to help you in compiling the information requested, please feel free to call me on my cell at 505-452-7419.  Councilor Rogers and I also plan to make phone calls to those of you who we have phone numbers for.

We greatly appreciate your support as we collaboratively and collectively pursue this huge grant opportunity!
