Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts about leadership development today! I am forwarding some additional information that I hope you will find useful.
It is never too early for one to begin thinking about leadership opportunities which will assist in differentiating oneself as uniquely exceptional. Click here to learn more about the MaveRx approach to leadership development. I am also including a quick overview below:
Step 1: Start with the end in mind! Write down your goals then network and formalize mentorships with those you wish to emulate. These mentors will assist you in reaching your goals by assisting you in creating your roadmap to achieve success. Click here for great networking tips.
Step 2: Establish credibility. Reach out for opportunities to work with your mentors, apply for leadership opportunities, and run for elected positions. TCEP, ACEP, EMA, CORD, SAEM, TMA, and county medical societies all offer medical student leadership opportunities. One may also find opportunities for leadership roles locally within your medical school.
Step 3: Work with your mentors to identify opportunities to ensure acknowledgement of your successes. Click here to find an example of awards available for medical students. There are similar awards available for everyone- just need to look for them!
Click here to review my CV which can be used both as a template for developing your CV as well as an outline of leadership opportunities. I have also copied my bio that can be used as an example when creating your own. (click here)
Don’t miss out on other important leadership development tips that will aid you in reaching your goals! Also feel free to share this information with others whom you feel may be interested in leadership development.
