Community outreach prior to January 2010 Board vote on LA text adoption

In response to concerns about what feels to be a hurried text adoption
pace - a planned Board vote in January 2010 - Kathleen Vasquez reports
plans for four community events in November and December. At these
events stakeholders "can not only learn about alignment and adoption,
but weigh-in on the adoption committee's suggestions prior to the
committee making any final recommendations." Vasquez also plans to
hold student focus groups to gather input.

The next LA Adoption meeting is October 22nd. I presume committee
members will hammer out the specifics of the outreach events. This
means SPS will gather community input for only two, short months. I
regret that the process for gathering input isn't clearly defined, as
it seems rushed to me.

I am sorry I don't have more information than this, but I want to get
this on that radar of the RHS community members who have been so
supportive of RHS LA offerings, particularly the Options program.
