I would just like to clarify the things that happened yesterday afternoon. The "kids" Raven is referring to are not associated with united playaz or city crossroads. They are the same drug dealers who are consistently outside our building. As usual I called for a passing call when there was trouble before we opened. When Jay approached me on the street, he said that the boys had been squirting his daughter, and I encouraged him to call the police. About 15 minutes later, as we left to pick up kids for tutoring there was an officer on natoma talking with the group. I assumed the issue had been dealt with.
I apologized if I seemed indifferent but in consideration for my safety and the safety of our staff, volunteers, and kids we do not personally approach the drug dealers, but instead call the police. We feel this is appropriate action.
However I have to respectfully disagree when you accuse our programs of supporting the very problems we are working so very hard to resolve. Please feel free to contact me personally if you have further issues.
