Design With Nature

Have you ever seen a nautilus shell?  The shell spirals around and around.  Some seeds are perfect spheres, and some leaves spread like an umbrella.  Spirals, spheres, whorls, and many other designs can be found in nature.  Such natural designs have been used in paintings, furniture, wallpaper, and tiles.  In this workshop, participants will go on a scavenger hunt for natural items with interesting shapes on the grounds of the Garden.  Then they will use these items to create their own designs and complete a “natural” piece of art to take home.
