Veterans Day may have been yesterday, but as we start off this week it’s a good reminder not to wait until one day a year to reach out and thank those who have served our country!

Military Mysteries in Torrington Thursday

Secret Military Projects - From Time Travel to Stealth Helicopters

In honor of Veterans Day and our Conspiracy Month, we will be presenting “Military Mysteries” at the Torrington Library (12 Daycoeton Place, Torrington) on Thursday at 6:30pm. This talk will be the final program in our 2012 “History’s Mysteries” series with the library, so you won’t want to miss it!

The presentation will cover unusual and secret programs conducted by our military, from experiments that sound more like science fiction than fact, to the development of advanced aircraft – like the “Stealth Blackhawk” that was designed and built by Connecticut’s own Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation! Most of these programs only came to light decades after they took place, but provide an interesting insight into what sort of things our government is involved in historically. Come be surprised!

The library programs are free and open to all. Talks normally last from 6:30pm – 8:00pm, and are great for all ages.

WAPJ Meet & Greet After Torrington Talk

After-Program Reception @ WAPJ Studios

We are very excited to announce that Torrington’s own radio station, WAPJ 89.9 and 105.1 FM will be hosting our special Meet & Greet following the program at the library. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested to ask questions, get more information about the group, share your thoughts with us, and more! We’ll even have some special materials discussed in the program that will be available for people to take a closer look at during this event!  This will all take place at the studio's WAPJ, located just a block away from the library at 42 Water Street!

There is NO charge for the reception and all are welcome!

Southbury Meeting Sunday Evening @ 7:00pm

Hey Southbury … We’re coming your way!

This Sunday, November 18th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm we’ll be hosting one of our special “Meetings On The Road” at the Southbury Starbcuks located at 775 Main St S. So come and join us for a coffee and great discusson with Staff, Members, and friends of the SGRA. It’s a great opportunity to meet other likeminded people, find out about upcoming events, learn about investigations currently taking place in the state, ask questions, and much more. New “Direct Area” Emails Coming Soon

We are working on a new project with our Newslink Email system that will help us to provide better “Direct Area” emails and announcments to those on our list. Here’s the scoop…

With SGRA events and activities covering the entire state, we understanad that it can be hard to keep track of when we are hosting something close to your specific area, and some people have contacted us because they have not been able to check our calendar frequently and missed events that were hosted near them. Unfortunately with our Newslink list reaching over 2,000 subscribers right now, it’s been hard to single out people in particular areas when it comes to event notices. But we’ve found a way!

Starting in December, we will be importaing email signups both past and present into a special mailing program which will allow us to sort users based on particular areas, interests, or previouisly-attended events! This will be a great feature to allow us to send these “Direct Area” messages to individuals so that you can be informed of when and where we’ll be near you. Everyone will still receive our main Weekly Weird Update and other Newslink Emails, but specific ones will be sent to areas of programs.

We look forward to adding this feature and service for all of our supporters! If you have any questions about it, you can always fel free to contact us at sg...@sgra.org.
