HAPPENING NOW: UFO Investigation in Litchfield It seems more than just family were visiting for Thanksgiving in Litchfield, Connecticut. On Thanksgiving evening, witnesses reported observing multiple objects in the night sky behaving in ways that were not consistent with any known aircraft. The objects appeared to be solid, yellow-red in color, move slowly and silently across the sky, and appeared to be traveling together, though independent of each other. The sightings lasted long enough for witnesses to call attention to others, and a total of seven witnesses (not from the same location) have currently contacted SGRA to report their observations. Our investigators have completed phone interviews with four of the witnesses, and communicated via email with most others, and are presently taking a deeper look into this incident. We were also informed of photographic and video recordings of the objects, and will be conducting analysis of those materials as soon as they are provided. What stood out most to us at this preliminary stage is that these objects were seen from different locations and vantage points, yet each witness reported identical features. The weather on that evening was also clear, with visibility estimated at over 20 miles, so from the vantage point and time of evening these witnesses had clear views of these objects. Over the next few days our investigators will be looking into this further, as well as contacting local Air Traffic Control centers and inquiring with nearby law enforcement to find out if any objects were reported by others on the evening in question. As always, our team will also look to possible local explanations including, but not limited to, investigating if any paper lanterns were released on the night and time in question. The current reported sightings, however, do not match with what we typically see when witnesses observe paper lanterns. Further details on this ongoing investigation will be posted to our website by the end of the week, but in the meantime if anyone observed these – or other – objects on Thanksgiving evening we invite you to contact us at sg...@sgra.org, (203) 987- SGRA, or visit our website to file a report. | Welcome To Doomsday Month
None of us here at SGRA honestly think the world is going to pop out of existence come December 21… but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun anyway! On December 1st we’re kicking off the very first (and maybe last…just kidding!) ”Countdown to Doomsday Month” featuring an entire month – or at least 21 days of it (again, kidding!) filled with asteroid impacts, earth changes, armageddon, and other good end-of-the-world scenarios. Of course, we’ll be tossing in a lot of fact to the fiction, and discussing reasons why many of these theories simply don’t add up. While Doomsday may not be as upon us as some think, our planet is going through some major environmental changes… sea levels are rising, natural disasters are increasing, and the severity of storms is higher than ever… so, could THESE scenarios truly spell the end of the world, or at least the end of things as we know them? Ahh… that, in fact, deserves a closer look. So join us throughout this month online or in-person as we present a series of Coffee Talks, ParaChats, website polls, and so much more! Visit our Facebook Events Listing or our Online Calendar for all the upcoming dates and details. | “Hollywood and the Paranormal” Talk December 4 Join us at the East Lyme Public Library (39 Society Rd. Niantic, CT) on Tuesday, December 4th at 7:00pm as we enter into the world of stars, spotlights, and the supernatural and explore the long connection between Hollywood and the paranormal from ghostly hauntings to alien contact! How much are movies promoted as "true stories" actually true? What movies do paranormal researches feel are most accurate in depicting these strange stories? And what sort of curses, ghosts, and skeletons can be found on the Hollywood stages and movie lots where these films have take place? This free program is presented in conjunction with the library and our Public Outreach programs. Everyone is welcome to attend, and it’s great for all ages! There will be a multimedia presentation followed by a Q&A session. | This Week @ SGRA Coffee Talk - Secret Projects Wednesday, November 28, 7:00pm @ 445 Front Ave, West Haven, CT Last Conspiracy Movie Night -- "The Siege" Friday, November 30, 7:00pm @ 445 Front Ave, West Haven, CT Countdown To Doomsday Film Fest Saturday, December 1, 2012, 12:00pm – 5:00pm @ 445 Front Ave, West Haven, CT SGRA At The CT Psychic Fair Sunday, December 2, 2012, 11:00am – 6:00pm Online ParaChat -- 2012: Just The Facts Sunday, December 2, 2012, 8:00pm – 10:00pm www.sgra.org |
