Coffee Talk Location & Day Change

alien coffee.jpgFor the past few weeks our Coffee Talk discussions have been taking place at the McDonalds in Orange, and while this has worked out well, it hasn’t been the ideal situation as it has limited what we are able to present. Last week, one of our SGRA Members who owns a business in West Haven offered us the use of his space for our Coffee Talk, and it worked out great!

Thanks to a generous offer from Russ, we are excited to announce that future Coffee Talks will be moving to his business in West Haven, and we have also decided to change the discussions from Wednesday evenings to Friday evenings (still starting at 7:00pm). The address for Coffee Talks is now 445 Front Ave, in West Haven (click here for a map), which is located only a block off of the Post Road / Rt. 1, and is approximately a mile up the road from the McDonalds we had been previously meeting at. He has also offered us the space so that we can go on to schedule our classes, regular Monthly Meetings, movie nights, and other popular activities that we had to put on hold after giving up the Research Center space.

The first of our new Coffee Talks will be taking place this Friday, September 21, at our new location! Directions and information can be found on our website, or you can always contact us directly. As always, Coffee Talks are open to anyone interested, and there is no charge to attend these events.

ParaTalk Chats Next 2 Sundays

chat shadow.jpgWe have been excited to bring back our popular ParaTalk Online Chats over the last month, and they have quickly become a quick success again! These online chats are simple to access and join in on, and a great way for people from anywhere to be able to take part in great discussions. We’re now trying to get into the habit of setting regular chats into our schedule again, and for now it looks like the times are going to be Sundays from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.

For the next two Sundays of the month (September 16 and September 23) we will be hosting chats. Tonight, September 16, the topic will be on dreams and dream interpretation. And next Sunday, September 23, the topic will be on “elemental” energies such as fairies, sprites, and other nature spirits. To access the chats, simply sign onto our website and click the link on the main page.

Never joined an online chat before? You can check out some information and instructions for our ParaTalk on our website by clicking here. Or you can bookmark the chatroom by clicking here.

SGRA Plans Meeting In Southbury

Thanks to the great feedback and media coverage we’ve received recently from Litchfield County, and especially the Woodbury and Southbury areas, we’re looking in to hosting one of our “SGRA On The Road” meetings on Sunday, September 30, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in Southbury. The meeting will take place at the Starbucks Coffee at 775 South Main Street in Southbury (click here for a map). More information will be posted to our website this coming week, and we’ll update everyone as the date gets closer, but be sure to mark it on your calendars and drop by. There will also be special information about our upcoming “Exploring Unsolved Mysteries” classes in Southbury, Thomaston, and Litchfield, as well as details on the Awakenings Metaphysical Fair coming to Southbury on October 6th.

Vampires, Witches, & Werewolves Comes To Torrington

dark woods.jpgDid you know that here in Connecticut there are legends of vampires, witches, and even werewolves written about in our history!?! It’s true… and on Thursday, September 27th at 6:00pm we’re going to be filling you in on all the information you’ll need to know!

These are not topics we think about as having such history here, but in fact there's a lengthy history with all of these creatures that extends into our distant past, as well as our more recent history! Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut. Part of the History's Mysteries 2012 Series!

The Torrington Library is at 12 Daycoeton Place, Torrington, CT (click for map), and registration is requested so that the library can plan for the number of people. Please note – we get a HUGE turnout in Torrington, so we suggest registering early. Call the library at 860.489.6684 to register. If space is filled, you can contact us directly at sg...@sgra.org as we do save seats for some members, but those seats are limited.
