| On The Trail Of A UFO… A single UFO sighting is always interesting to us… but when we start hearing from multiple people, across different towns, who all spotted something on the same evening, you’ve got our attention. And now after a week of receiving reports, we’re on the trail of a UFO that was in the skies last Sunday, July 29th. What was it? We’re not sure yet, but our team is on the case.  Residents in Woodbury, Monroe, Bethany, New Haven, and Milford all reported seeing something unusual that Sunday night between the hours of 8:00pm and 11:00pm. Reports vary slightly, as some witnesses saw an object with a reddish-glow to it, while others saw a solid grey object, but each one described an object with an “orb” or “sphere” look to it which hovered or moved extremely slowly. Three witnesses even managed to snap pictures of the object as it neared the moon (see article on our website).
Currently we are expanding our investigation of the objects because we had originally been focusing on only the Woodbury area until receiving the other reports from other areas. Through the Woodbury-Middlebury Patch website and the Litchfield County Times we have been trying to spread the word and encourage witnesses to share their observations with us. Join us as we share stories and images from actual investigations, show the tools we use and discuss how an investigation is conducted, and you can even try your hands on some of the equipment!
Although this event is hosted as part of the “Own The Night” teen program, it is open to all ages and will take place in the library’s program room on the lower level from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Can’t Make It To New London? If you’re not able to make it up to New London for Tuesday’s program, have no fear! You can join us for our weekly Coffee Talk as we’ll be discussing the subject of ghosts and hauntings! Our Coffee Talks are taking place at the McDonalds located at 57 Boston Post Road in Orange (click for a map) from 7:00pm – 9:00pm and are open to everyone! Can’t Make The Coffee Talk! There’s More Chances… If you can’t make it to New London or to our Coffee Talk than you can still join us for a ParaChat Online Discussion on ghosts taking place on Sunday, August 19 from 8:00pm – 10:00pm right on our website. On Saturday and Sunday we will be presenting two interactive discussions as part of the weekend’s PHD Psychic Fairs Saturday at the Milford Howard Johnson and Sunday at the Shelton Courtyard Marriot. Saturday, join us at 4:00pm for a discussion on the metaphysical properties of crystals and stones, from helping with healing, protection, concentration, stress relief, and more we'll discuss how to pick them, cleanse them, and use them in your daily lives. Then on Sunday, we’ll be presenting TWO talks at 1:00pm & 3:00pm on on developing your intuition. We'll share hints and methods to help connect with your own psychic abilities, including meditation, ESP exercises, divination methods, and more! The workshop is open to anyone and admission to the psychic fair is free. | BIG Summer Skywatch Event Planned… We are very happy to announce that on Saturday, September 1 we are planning a BIG Summer Skywatch to take place in Orange, Connecticut. The Skywatch will feature several activities for all ages, including some crafts for kids, a discussion on Skywatches and on UFOs, and then an evening under the summer sky for an opportunity to take in the stars! Exact details on times are presently being set, and we will post updates as soon as they are available, but the event will be open to anyone interested even if you are not a resident of Orange. All activities are presented free, although donations are appreciated, and participants who intend to stay for the Skywatch are encouraged to bring along binoculars, telescopes, spotting scopes, and cameras. Some SGRA equipment will also be available for people to use as well, and our Staff will be on hand to help you pick out objects you’re looking at and learn how to be “knowledgeable observers.” Stay tuned for information coming soon! |
