Getting Back To Business After Hurricane Sandy We’d like to thank everyone who contacted us following Hurricane Sandy rolling through Connecticut. SGRA was down temporarily because of the storm and power outages, but as of yesterday evening we’re back on line and getting back to business. We do apologize if you are one of the 128 people to have sent us emails or submitted reports via our website in the last few days, but promise we will be responding to everyone as soon as we can sort through the backlog of communications. We would also like to take a brief moment to remind people that there are still hundreds of families without power, and far too many people who have lost so much in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. There are many ways that people can help support organizations responding to the aftermath of this storm, and it doesn’t always involve financial contributions. Many wonderful organizations will gladly accept lightly-used clothing, canned goods, and other items that are in short supply here in the Northeast. Also – it’s important to remember that it’s not only people that need help at this time either. There are many animal shelters and rescue organizations that have become innundated with lost pets and other animals that need help. Conspiracy Month Begins November begins our annual Conspiracy Month here at SGRA!
For those who don’t know, this month id dedicated to exploring the crazy, unbelivable, and far-too-often true nature of cover-ups both past and present. There are always unproven conspiracies theories (and some of them can be pretty insane even by our standards), but the most interesting ones are those that do in fact become proven fact. Our own government testing chemical weapons on unknowing citizens… Secret programs developing mind control techniques… Hidden government agencies with more authority than the President. All these things were once thought to be entirely “kook-talk,” but have since been proven factual. So join us (if you’re not paraoid enough yet) for our special lineup of events all month, from Coffee Talks and Movie Nights, to Library Programs and Online Chats! Check out our Online Events Calendar or Facebook Fan Page for complete details! |
SGRA Field Team Training Sessions Have you ever wondered what it is that our Field Team does when investigating, researching, or analyzing Case Files? Well… now’s your chance! A few times a year we host training sessions geared towards teaching those interested about what we do “behind the scenes” here at SGRA. Whether you are looking to join SGRA as a Field Investigator, or simply want to know how this work is really done, this is a great opportunity for you! We are excited to announce that the next training session will take place Saturday, November 17 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm in West Haven. This training covers our policies, procedures, theories, and methods involved in conducting investigations. Among things we cover include what we consider our “paranormal philosophy,” the approach taken to Case Files, equipment used on investigations and software used for evidence anlaysis, and much more. This is a very extenstive training, and provides far more than any of our lectures or overview programs. Those completing this training are invited to join SGRA as certified memebrs of our Field Team – this training is required to reach that postion within SGRA. Registartion is R E Q U I R E D to take part in this training as it is strictly limited in size. There is also a $20.00 charge which covers a Field Notebook provided as well as handouts and additional materials given during the session. For more information contact us at sg...@sgra.org or 203 – 987 – SGRA. |
