| Special Note: There will not be a ParaChat next Sunday, October 27th, due to our annual Halloween event. Vampires, Witches, & Werewolves In Terryville TONIGHT Join us TONIGHT starting at 6:30pm at the Terryville Library (238 Main Street – Click For A Map) as we present one of our most popular programs exploring the legends and history of Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves from right here in our own state! Today most people regard stories like these as pure fiction, but there was a time – not too long ago, in fact – when talk of these creatures was taken very seriously, and they were feared among locals.
We are also excited to invite anyone interested to join us for an After-Program Meet & Greet event at the Terryville McDonalds (321 Main Street – Click For A Map) from 8:30pm – 10:00pm. These events are a fun opportunity for people to ask questions about SGRA, find out about membership, and get to know us better! We will also discuss future meetings and events being planned for the Terryville area! | Tune In To SGRA Director Or 99.1 WPLR Tuesday This Tuesday, October 23, be sure to tune in to the Chaz & AJ Morning Show on 99.1 FM WPLR at 7:00am to hear SGRA Director Jon Nowinski talk to the guys about Connecticut’s most haunted places and famous ghost stories just in time for the round up to Halloween. Last year, calls and comments were taken from listeners, so dial in to share your story or add your thoughts! Jon’s appearance is part of Chaz & AJ’s “Freak Week” special broadcasts, which according to the website, will feature “ghost hunters, astrologists, and even a woman who talks to aliens. Celebrate Halloween with the freakiest people in Connecticut.” | Ghost Photographic Analysis @ Wednesday’s Coffee Talk
We’ve all errie photographs that appear to show spectral figures or strange blurs where nothing were seen. In this age of computer imagry and photoshopping, it’s easier than ever to create fake ghost photos or even accidental images that can appear strange and unusual to the untrained eye. So how – if at all – can we tell whether any of them are genuine or not? That’s where the focus of photographic analysis come in, and it’s something our Field Team is constantly keeping updated in. This Wednesday we’ll be sharing some of that knowledge with those taking part in our weekly Coffee Talk discussions in West Haven. We’ll show you examples of many types of photos and explain how we give then a closer examination. Then, it’s up to you – can you spot the fakes and mistakes from the real thing? You decide! Coffee Talks are currently being held in West Haven at the business location of one of our members and they are still open to the public! The address is 445 Front Avenue in West Haven, on the 2nd Floor (Click For Map). RSVP is requested, and exact directions will be provided upon registering. | “Things Go Bump In The Night” Saturday In Branford On Saturday, October 27th, starting at 2:00pm at the Blackstone Memorial Library in downtown Branford (758 Main Street - Click For Map) we’ll be hosting an afternoon based on our popular “Things DO Go Bump In The Night” program. The event will feature a 40 minute multimedia presentation starting at 2:30, followed by a Paranormal Q&A with members of the SGRA Staff. We will also have pieces of equipment used on actual investigations into unexplained phenomena, items from our arhives, and information about some famous Connecticut locations.
This event is completely FREE and open to all ages, so come join us for a spooky-filled afternoon! | Get Creeped Out Monday In Woodbridge
