July Events & New Calendar Updated

We are happy to announce the creation of a new events calendar on our website which is now available at www.sgra.org/events/. This new version is much easier to read and navigate than previous versions, and provides us with some better features to serve our viewers. July’s events are now posted, and we have even started posting future events onto the calendar! We look forward to utilizing this version for the latest events information and updates so be sure to visit frequently.

Coffee Talks Go “On The Road” This Month

coffee cup.gifAlthough our Research Center has closed, our popular Coffee Talks will continue as we take them “on the road” to different locations. For July, our discussions will be taking place at the McDonalds located at 57 Boston Post Road in Orange on Wednesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 25, both at the regular time of 7:00pm – 9:00pm. On the first Wednesday we will be discussing upcoming summer events, including our library and community outreach programs. The second Wednesday we will be discussing the mystery of the Roswell Crash of 1947.

Coffee Talks are free and open to anyone interested. There’s no registration required. Click here for directions.

Library Programs Come To Monroe, Madison, Torrington, AND Orange This Month!

http://sgra.org/home/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/girl-alien-300x187.jpg This month we are teaming up with several libraries in Connecticut to present fun and interactive programs for all ages on the meaning of dreams, how to identify things in the night sky, and what object crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. It all starts with back-to-back programs at the Edith Wheeler Library in Monroe on Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17. Then on Tuesday, July 24 we’ll be back at the Scranton Library in Madison, followed by a visit to the Torrington Library on Thursday, July 26, and finally at the end of the month a program at the Case Memorial Library in Orange on Monday, July 30. All of these programs are being presented free and are open to the public. You can find out complete details on our events calendar or our Facebook Fan Page.
