Last night's SF LocalWiki meetup!

Hey folks!

Last night's meetup was really wonderful--it was nice meeting some of you for the first time and learning about what you wanted to explore about San Francisco through the wiki. Thanks for coming out! And thank you to Britta and Double Union for providing us with space and content ideas for the wiki. :] Stay tuned to the list if you'd like to propose or hear about future meetup spots and dates.

Here is a list of articles that went up last night (please respond with any I missed!):

• Our host got a nice page: Double Union
• A few folks also started scheming on a Double Union guide to the neighborhood and identifying feminist therapists.
• Trans March (one of my favorite things about SF), the LGBT Community Center, and the center's Queer Open Mic event.
  
• Lava Mae, a mobile shower serving homeless folks.
• Want to know where to get your hair dyed neon colors?
• Tenant rights portal--a lot of people have got your back! 
• On a related note, learn about the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, including its Golden Gateway project (a big 1960s development in the Financial District).
  
• Into bikes? San Francisco Yellow Bike and The Bike Hut are community-oriented nonprofits.
• The Jejune Institute (a massive, secret, real-life role playing game that happened from 2008 to 2011).
  
• So many parklets! And non-profits!
  
• App Academy (a coding bootcamp).
• Learn the pros and cons of local Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
• Borderlands Books, specializing in sci-fi, horror, and fantasy.
• ...and of course Clarion Alley.

Also, wanted to let folks in the Bay Area know that we're going to have another event in SF on Aug. 23rd. We're partnering with Code for San Francisco, the SF civic hacking brigade and will be doing an all day "City Knowledge Share" at the Code for America office.

Also, Code for San Francisco has hack nights every Wednesday and I've been attending them and doing LocalWiki SF stuff with any interested participants. If anyone is interested, details are here.
