On today's date in 1963, 200,000 Americans gathered for a peaceful civil rights rally in Washington, D.C. There, in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his inspiring "I Have a Dream" speech.
Today, Students for Life of Illinois officially released 'I Have a Dream', a video that links the pro-life movement with the civil rights movement. This video shows that the pro-life movement is this generation's civil rights movement. It draws parallels between the civil rights movement of the '60s and what students are doing and must do today to secure rights for the unborn.
John-Paul Deddens, Executive Director of Students for Life of Illinois said, "We created this video to show that students play a vital role in creating a movement that, like the civil rights movement, is a powerful and effective means for promoting and securing the rights of
all people."
