No age or time in life, no position or circumstance, has a monopoly on success. Any age is the right age to start doing."
- The Ultimate Coach, PDC Institute
No matter where you are or what you are currently doing, there is room for improvement and advancement. Growing is an inevitability of nature. Just as we start life as babies and grow into manhood or womanhood, so it is that just as our bodies grow, we must continue to grow in both mind and spirit as well.
"On the stage of your life you are the star...the bright and shining star!"
- The Secret Abundance Files
Well, you
are the star, aren't you? If you're not the star, if you don't play the leading role in your life, who does? Many people, at some point in their lives, relinquish the leading role of their lives
to someone else. As if that isn't sad enough (after all, you only have one life that we know of for sure), many have relinquished the staring role of their lives to a mother, father, sister, brother, husband, wife (or worse yet a former husband or former wife),
their children, the boss, neighbors, so-called friends and the list goes on. Sadly, in many cases the person or persons to whom the leading role has been relinquished is no longer living but is still in the leading role.
At this point you may be saying to yourself, "I play the starring role in my life." Congratulations if you really do, but are you sure you do? Something you may have long since forgotten could, at a subconscious level, be keeping you from being the star in
life you have it within you to be. Just a simple, one-time comment to you when you were four or five, a comment such as, "you can't do anything right" can follow you all your life and hinder your becoming all you had hoped to be.
How do you know if you're a victim of such a thing? It's actually quite easy and you don't need to spend days, weeks, months or years on a shrink's couch. If you haven't accomplished all you would like to accomplish in life, if you know that if you were just
given the right opportunity you could be a star, you are probably suffering from what we call Original Faulty Programming(TM) which means that someone has planted something in your mind and planted it so deeply that you don't know it's there.
"Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone."
- Pablo Picasso
Ouch! That one stings a bit, doesn't it? Regardless of the sting, it sounds like good advice to me. How many times have you heard of a friend who was going to buy a life insurance policy...
tomorrow, or the individual who was going to buy fire insurance tomorrow?
We've all encountered those situations in which we put something off knowing we had all the time in the world to get it done. If not today... maybe tomorrow, right? Wrong.
Particularly when it comes to fulfilling your dream... time is of the essence. Another way of saying this is to suggest that you don't want to leave planet Earth with your song unsung. If it's not important, don't do it at all. If it is important, do it now.
"There comes that mysterious meeting in life when someone acknowledges who we are and what we can be and it ignites the circuits of our highest potential."
- Rusty Berkus
This is interesting in that it ignores the possibility of our being able to look deep within ourselves and ignite our own flame. Others can inspire and guide us
but it is we, ourselves that must strike the match and light our flame.
I must say, however, that if you've not been able to light your own flame and you meet someone else who inspires you and/or has the ability to either light your flame or help you light it yourself... let 'em do it.
Once the spark that has been dormant and well hidden in you since birth is ignited, you will be amazed at the talent and ability that will emerge.
Go ahead, ignite that spark and become a beautiful glow in the world.
