You are invited to attend a panel discussion about the housing crisis and state law on Wednesday, December 2, from 6:30 - 9 PM. This should be a great discussion, despite the fact that I'm moderating. Come learn about the cost of constructing new housing, land use law, and state laws that can help squash the power of NIMBYs. There will be plenty of time for audience participation. Please forward this invitation to other interested people and organizations.

Please attend the panel discussion on Wednesday evening. There will be wine, beer, snacks, and 3 excellent panelists.

Ashleigh Kanat, Executive Vice President, Economic & Planning Systems

Ashleigh is an expert in many things related to land economics. Come find out why it's so expensive to build new construction in the Bay Area and better understand the financial concerns of localities when approving new development.

David Grabill, Public Interest Litigator

David has been fighting the good fight for housing for many years. In 2009, he filed suit against Napa for failing to build enough houses for low and moderate income people. His suit, Latinos Unidos de Napa vs Napa, resulted in the appellate court overturning Napa's Density Bonus program. SF's new Affordable Housing Bonus Program was in part a reaction to David's lawsuit.

Linda C. Klein, Land Use Attorney, Cox, Castle & Nicholson

Linda is a CEQA expert who has successfully fought CEQA lawsuits against urban infill housing developments. She also used to teach architecture and has a degree in civil engineering, so she could design a house, fight NIMBY lawsuits and navigate the entitlement process, and then build a house. Come learn from her.

Spread the word, RSVP, and donate!

Thanks!
