The Saturday, August 8, 2026 Science Fiction Association of Bergen County General Meeting will be held through Zoom Video Conference at 7:30 PM. Our speaker is science fiction writer Catherince Asaro, who had to cancel her appearance last month.
Catherine Asaro, Science Fiction / Fantasy Author:
Catherine Asaro is the author of a lot of books and works of short fiction. She has twice won the Nebula Award (2001 Best Novel, 2008 Best Novella) and is best known for her saga of The Skolilan Empire. Our guest is a member of the SIGMA speculative writer advisory think tand, holds a PhD in Chemical Physics from Harvard University, and is a past President of the Science Fiction Writers of America.

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION:
Meetings of the Association are normally held on the second Saturday of the month and feature talks, slide shows, and other presentations by experts in science fiction, fantasy, and related fields. The Association sponsors online Google and FaceBook discussion groups and a number of in-person and online activities devoted to various aspects of science fiction and similar matters, including events focused on books, movies, television, science, and similar areas of interest. We also produce a monthly newsletter listing talks, conventions, discussion groups, and other activities pertaining to science fiction and kindred genres.
