The next General Meeting of the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County will be held at 8:00 PM at the Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church, 318 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, New Jersey 07458, We'll have free books and videos and informal discussions. Montclair State University Professor Marc Favata will speak about Gravitational Waves.
Pre-Meeting Discussion:
Early arrivals are welcome to attend our pre-meeting Ice Nine Discussion from 6:30 - 7:45 PM. This is a broad-pased discussion of fantasy, science fiction, horror, and related books, movies, television, comics, and whatever else those present choose to talk about.
Marc Favata, Astrophysicis:
Marc Favata is the Chairbeing of the Physics & Astronomy Department at Montclair State University. He holds a Ph D and M S from Cornell University and a B S from the California Institute of Technology. His specialty is gravitational waves. He is a member of the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory) project.

There might or might not be a post-meeting gathering at the Stateline Diner. Everything is such a jumble right now that we will decide at the end of the meeting.
ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION:
Meetings of the Association are normally held on the second Saturday of the month and feature talks, slide shows, and other presentations by experts in science fiction, fantasy, and related fields. The Association sponsors online Google and FaceBook discussion groups and a number of in-person and online activities devoted to various aspects of science fiction and similar matters, including events focused on books, movies, television, science, and similar areas of interest. We also produce a monthly newsletter listing talks, conventions, discussion groups, and other activities pertaining to science fiction and kindred genres.
