Dear SETEG Members,

For many of us, the summer is our busy time of the year where we
typically get more visitation. It is also the time of year where a
number of us start thinking about what traveling exhibitions we can
market, or which traveling exhibitions are available to rent for the
upcoming fiscal year.

If you have some traveling exhibitions that you would like to market,
please send a post here and it will be shared with the group. Be sure
to provide links and contact information as well! If you are looking
for a traveling exhibition to host, please feel free to post the types
of exhibitions you are looking for and we can be sure to find
something for you!

Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

mathematics and technology (SMT) content that underlies not only the
game but our lives. The exhibit includes various components that will
allow your visitors to explore nearly 20 different SMT topics in a fun
and interactive manner. The accompanying exhibit package includes
educational materials that can be used to further reinforce the SMT
topics covered. It requires 3,000 sq. ft. and ten-foot ceilings.

noticed a broken window. Objects have been moved and some things are
missing. Someone has committed a crime! But who? The exhibit consists
of the crime scene, 6 lab tables where 15 clues are examined and 3
video units which supply additional clues to help detectives in their
quest for a solution. In addition to these components there is a
suspects’ area and a solutions wall, as well as board games depicting
great detectives of fiction This exhibit requires 1,000 to 1,500 sq.
ft. and has 20 participatory experiences. Please contact us for
availability and pricing.

the lives of some of the most dangerous animals that ever inhabited
out planet. Jump into our shark cage and stare down the mouth of a
life size great white shark replica. Learn how dinosaurs tracked their
favorite prey and what house cats have in common with lions and
tigers. Explore how predators fill a very useful place in the natural

We are currently prepping to send part of our Japanese Woodblock Print
collection on tour with Smith Kramer Traveling Exhibitions:

The Floating World:

Ukiyo-E Prints from the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art

This exhibition of fifty-three Edo period prints reveals for the first
time an intimate history of Japanese print collecting in the South in
the early 20th century. With the help of internationally known ukiyo-
e print expert Frederick Gookin, LRMA founder Wallace B. Rogers
created a superb collection in just under five years in the 1920s.
Gookin’s expertise and Rogers’s funding yielded a collection rich in
the works of Hiroshige, and expansive enough to include Hokusai,
Utagawa, and other important printmakers. These outstanding prints
were stored in albums for much of the 20th century, and have rarely
been exhibited outside of Mississippi.

The exhibition encompasses works from the entirety of the Edo period
and almost all of the subjects of Edo period ukiyo-e: beautiful women,
actors and the theater, landscapes, narrative scenes, and decorative
themes. This little-known collector and collection are explored in
the accompanying catalogue essay by Hans Bjarne Thomsen of the
University of Zurich, using primary resources, including an extensive
cache of personal letters from Frederick Gookin in the LRMA Archives.
