Helping with SEL4MA virtual SEL Providers Showcase

Hi, SEL4MA Event Committee friends.

Happy New Year! It's been a while since some of us have been in touch.

We wanted to let you know about the next event that SEL4MA is planning and ask for your help.

On Tuesday, February 9, we'll be holding a virtual SEL Providers Showcase, which will be an opportunity for participants to learn about how to select SEL providers (e.g., programs/curricula and assessment tools) to support their broader SEL approaches. The event will include virtual keynotes, breakout sessions, sponsor exhibits, and networking opportunities. (If you know of any SEL provider organizations that might be interested in taking part, please have them contact me directly.)

For the event, we're using the Hopin virtual conference platform, which is new to us. We need to learn more about how the platform works and how best to support participants in navigating it successfully.

Would you be up for joining us in exploring the virtual platform a bit over the next week or so? Just register for one or more of the free events that are available on Hopin, pop into the event(s) at least briefly (10-15 minutes?), and share anything you learn about how to make the virtual conference experience work for participants.

For example, there's a free Teacher's Self-Care Conference that's happening today that uses keynotes, breakouts, exhibits, and networking:

On Monday, there are a couple of big MLK Day events that focus on keynotes:

• Leaders and Movements//Rainbow PUSH Coalition Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration (with Rev. Jesse Jackson)
• New Jersey Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Commission Youth Conference

There are many other free events listed. The ones in the Top Events section seem to be the larger ones, which might be most relevant to us. If the timing works for you, the topics don't really matter, since the goal is to see how the platform works.
