Hi all--
George Aditjondro, our writer for both Indonesia and East
Timor, recently delivered a keynote speech at a workshop on Human Rights and
Neoliberalism in North Sumatera. He is sharing with all of us his paper and I am
attaching it to this email. It's an interesting read given that it builds upon
most of what we discussed as a group during the writers' meeting in Bangkok last
month. Of particular interest is his discussion of resource wars - the idea that
most wars are conflicts over control of resources, from plantation produce, oil,
gas, to the notorious industry of blood diamonds in Africa.
I hope all's well with all of you.
All the best,
Marissa

Subject: Aditjondro's Neoliberalism paper
Amiga mia, just to share my latest paper on
Neoliberalism,
which I presented in Medan. Maybe you
want to pass it on to the other
writers, also to the
expert, Walden. Ciao,
George
