Hello, everyone. Attached is a file containing the minutes/talking points of our meeting in Bangkok last weekend. It's in MS Word format and it's for your reference. I hope you all still remember that you have a deadline coming up. The working outlines for your country papers are due on Monday, August 14. I am also sending this email to Miss Le Thi Quy, who is interested to contribute to our project as the researcher/writer for Vietnam.

dear marissa,

please find attached my outline on the Philippine section of political
advocacy and civil society in the asean. i hope you get the file ok. let
me know if you didn't get it.

also, i'd like to ask if we could have a small budget for informant
interviews. i think i would want to interview some people who are key to
the writing of my section. the list of names are included in the
methodology, at the bottom part of this outline. i understand that the
RTD in october will serve more as a "feedback" mechanism on the draft,
rather than a source of information for the writer. in this case, i would
want to do some interviews while writing or prior to writing the draft. if
this is acceptable to seaca, may i request that "food costs"- as meeting
cost with interviewees be re-imbursed? i will make sure that the costs
are as modest as possible, or if we don't need to go to a public place,
then i shall try to conduct the interview wherever possible.

Hello, everyone. Thank you for forwarding your working outlines. Given the strength of all the outlines submitted, I am confident all country papers are shaping up to be solid resources on the state of advocacy in SEA.

 

I am writing to address an issue raised by at least 2 of our writers. We understand that you will incur expenses in the course of your research. Therefore, SEACA is offering a small budget, US$100, for you to use as representational allowance while conducting interviews with your resources. We will only request that you submit an "Expense Statement" listing the details of your interview-related expenses. Please include names of interviewees or organizations. Also, please attach receipts as supporting documents to your "Expense Statement" so that our Finance Officer can easily process your reimbursements. Send me an email if you have things to clarify.
