Good evening gentlemen,

As we discussed today, we need to create incentives to keep members of SEUGLS engaged. One idea we tossed around was producing a biweekly or monthly newsletter to tie together the regional user group events, engage topics, and so forth. I wanted to let this email serve as the open for the discussion and go from there.

One of the concerns discussed about doing a full newsletter was around
content generation. As all of us are already in one or more groups
taking on the content generation task for another meta group could be
significant additional work. One idea proposed was to have a monthly
lunch meeting/ conference call. I am willing to be responsible for
scheduling, notifying, and the disseminating notes about the
conference call if that idea works for everyone. However, generating
content, collecting content, and publishing a news letter is a bit
beyond what I can commit to.

I'm glad you touch up on time restraints. My working proposal was for any newsletter to serve as an aggregator for monthly events in our region. A function probably served better by an iCal feed.

I agree that an iCAL feed is better suited for all of us. Just about
any calendaring program these days reads iCAL feeds and it would be the
easiest to maintain on all of us.
